Why do some items in search come back with "shown in" blank, even when they should (I would think) have a result.  Please see attachment with example.
 
Also, is there a reason we cannot add columns to the search grid?  Being able to do so would make it much easier to figure out which item you're looking for when they are many results, for instance if I could display the parent column.

It could be that the item doesn't meet the grid's source bar filter criteria, other than the source itself.
Is there any other filter, apart from the source itself?

Nope, the grid doesn't have a single filter other than the source.

The list of items in a grid is saved when the grid is saved. This occurs when the grid is closed or through the Grid > Save command.
 
Perhaps the item was added before one of these 2 events occurred...

Even if I save the grid or close and reopen it, the "shown in" remains blank in the search results.
 
The only way I was able to get the "shown in" to display in the search results was to change a little text on the item, then close the grid.  Then the "shown in" instantly updated and listed the grid.
