In Ecco, I have setup my main Window with 4 views in 4 quadrants:

ToDos: Top Left                                       Phonebook: Top Right
Appointments:  Bottom Left                      References: Bottom Right

How do I arrange 4 IQ grids in this manner?
I am able to stack them on top of each other, but I can't figure out how to make two of them (e.g. bottom two) floating so that I can move them to the right?

This is not possible in IQ. Windows are either arranged as vertical OR horizontal tab groups. You "could" open 2 instances of IQ to simulate it...

Can this be added as a feature request? Would it be difficult to implement?
Other panes can be arranged, why not grids?
TIA!

p.s. What forum notification settings do I need to check to only be notified by E-mail when there is a comment to posts that I have posted in?

Well, it is not that simple. Grids are shown in the tab workspace, like modern browsers and support Ctrl Tab shortcuts to switch between tabs. I could put a single grid in a docking pane, but keyboard navigation would be lost.

As for this forum, there is no way to get notifications to one's own posts only.

That would be OK with me; to have an option to put single grids in docking panes  (if easy to implement)

Hi viking,

I'm testing putting views into docking panes. A first version will be included in v85:

That looks great.  It's always nice to have more options for displaying info.

Hi IQUsers,

Progressing well in this major UI update. You'll have full freedom in arranging windows while still maintaining the default Tab workspace.

Basically, views will open in the tab workspace but you'll be able to detach these and either have it floating or docked inside the main IQ window.
Panes can be stacked or overlapped, in which case, each pane will have a tab.

Closing and re-opening the file restores the layout. Each instance has it own layout, to adapt to different screen sizes.

HTH !

Pierre, will each grid show a title?  In this case I can tell that the bottom right is the calendar, but if it was a regular grid I wouldn't be able to tell what it was....at least in this screenshot.

Yes, the pane caption will be the same as the tab caption.

Hi Pierre,

I would like to be able to have the option of placing the HTML pane at the bottom.  However right now I don't do that much because if i do, it goes too far off the the left which is a little visually disconcerting, and it impacts my home page, which I prefer to have always visible with minimal scrolling.  Would it be possible to be able to have the HTML pane line up beneath the (main) grids?  See attachment, I'd like to be able to able to have it end where the red line is.

Thanks!

Yup, in v85, you'll simply detach the home pane, dock it to the left and voilà !
And I've improved the F11 (hide panes), so while working on a view in the main tab workspace, pressing F11 will hide all panes to maximize the viewing area. Pressing F11 again restores the panes
