I have an item in my ToDo list & in the Calendar. However, I am not able to uncheck "ItemInCalendar" (in the properties Pane) so that the item is removed form the Calendar

If you look in the field properties, you'll see that this field is "read only". That means you can't modify it directly, but there are ways around this.

Normally, you can delete an event directly from the calendar itself... Right click -> delete -> first or second option depending on if you want to keep the value in the corresponding date field or not.

However, you can also uncheck the itemInCalendar field using auto-assign equations.

E.g.
1- configure a date field to be assigned to calendar by default (I don't remember which date field Pierre chose for the default one, but it's an option of any date field -- e.g. appointment date field),
2- add an autoassign rule to that date field to remove calendar assignation when its  value is deleted:

You can also use Item > Remove from Calendar
It is a good suggestion though, I'll add it to the wish list

Item > Remove from Calendar
Is not available when in the Calendar. In this case, I need to delete the item directly

True, that needs fixing.

As Armando said, while in the Calendar, right-click > Delete does what you want.
