Me too. Just out of curiosity, why is this important ? Are you referring to ItemColor (field of that name) or embedded colors (through HTML <fgcolor> or <bgcolor> codes) ?

I am actually a bit confused about the different text colors names...
In Ecco I am using rules to color the text (and/or background) depending on task type, urgency etc. With a glance I would know what action I need to take depending on it's colors.
In IQ, I would use Conditional Formatting (however, that doesn't work at the moment due the another reported bug where the formatting ignores the text if it starts with a Capital letter). I think that I would need to use ItemForecolor to color the text? What is the difference vs. ItemColor?
In any case, if an item happens to be selected, I would not see its colors and not know the item status/action etc.
For my main purpose, I was referring to ForeColor (or whatever it is called - I need to read up on names and color codes). However, when I was testing, I simply set the color manually. I guess that was HTML colors. I tried with ForeColor=16711680 for Conditional Formatting and then I could select the item (with Semi-Transparency) w/o loosing the color .
p.s. I will post separately regarding color codes. The help file states that we should use color codes like &HAAAAF (HEX), but a numerical value works fine for the Conditional Formatting. Furthermore, the codes on the Web are of the format #FF0000, not &HAAAAF....
In InfoQube grids, formatting is structured as a hierarchy. In increasing order of precedence, these are:
Overall default grid font
Grid specific font
Item format: Applies to the whole item or to specific column(s)
Outline styles
Embedded format: Applies to text selections inside cells
Conditional format for individual cells

1. If I set the color manually using the Formatting toolbar (I assume that is embedded colors?), the colors disappears when selecting the item.
2. If I use Conditional Formatting with ForeColor=16711680, then I could select the item (with Semi-Transparency) w/o loosing the color. Note that ForeColor does not show as a field in the Properties pane in this case.

I'm sorry viking, but if you don't read the documentation, don't provide screen shots or answer the questions when asked, and / or don't provide the exact steps to reproduce it, I cannot help you.
Perhaps others can, but my patience has limits.
I often offer new users a free 30 minute live phone call to get them going on using IQ. You're welcome to use this offer. It would save us (you and me) a lot of time reading and writing posts on this forum !
