Hi IQ Users !

Coming in the next version (v0.9.88) :
  • New: Tabs can now contain panes, so they can be split into any number of views. To add a view to a tab, open the view and right-click on the its tab and select "Copy View". Then right-click on the tab and select "Paste View". The view will be shown in a docked pane. Reposition the pane if desired.
    • With this new feature, tabs can become customizable "desktops". For example, users can show both tasks and the Calendar in the same tab and drag-drop tasks straight to the Calendar (as either a scheduled or unscheduled event) Much improved task management !!
  • New: When dragging an item to the Calendar, option to show item or create an appointment sub-item
  • Fixed: Grid: When dragging an item to the Calendar header or all day section, it now correctly creates an unscheduled event
  • Fixed: Grid: It was possible to move a column to the left of the # column
  • Fixed: Calendar: Smoother navigation when the day view is zoomed
  • Fixed: Tools > Options > Other: Hotkey change no longer require a program restart
  • Fixed: New Item dialog: WIKITag List not updating in "Add to Item IQ Base" Dialog Drop-down List

This sounds *very* interesting Pierre
keep up the great work !!!

will it be possible then
to have 1 grid as a navigation
and trigger links from it
into any other open grid?

i can't seem to figure this out yet.

thanks

Hi Donleone,

This is already possible. Either with a grid in a separate tab group, a grid in a separate pane or using the Home Page

Don't hesitate to ask for assistance

i know this seems like a very "simple" thing but i have already tried all these following ways:

---

1. inside of any grid, right-clicking on any item title text (in the item column) and making from there out a hyper-link to another item, that is in another grid

= RESULTS in opening that item, but always in the Scratch pad rather than in that other grid.

---

2. so also from a custom text field created, when it is then put into the grid columns no matter what i select in the field properties be it "hyperlink" or "read only" or whatever option the link text in that field, in the grid column gets always just displayed as:

<a href=1526>X</a> (as like written out)

and even though it's click-able nothing gets triggered at all not even the opening of it in the scratch pad.

---

as for the other ways of linking the issue i have with the Homepage and/or links from the HTML editor is that these 2 panes look to me very anti-aliased and blurry (as if they all use some IE Explorer HTML Engine)

when compared to the text that is in the Grid which is as ultra-sharp as any text can be (since i have everywhere on my PC cleartype completely turned off via registry,  and it is everywhere turned off except only in these 2 HTML rendered panes)

that is also why i wanted to do it via just a Grid-to-Grid linking only (and also of course because i could filter in the grid the best)

and so i hoped therefore that this new 9.88er version could make this seeming simple multi-pane-inter-related-grid-linking a little bit more easier for me.

but thanks for any help or any working test files that some of you guys might provide.

greetings

Hi,

2 issues here:
  1. If you're seeing "html" code in the grid, you probably have selected that option. Right click on the Item column and deselect "Show HTML Codes"
  2. To have an item open in a specific grid, simply show the item in that grid and mark it as a favorite (or manually set the ItemHomeGrid field)

well Pierre

you solved everything.

after disabling the "Show Html Codes"
the link started working great.

and now that i also know
how to fix an item to a specific grid,
by defining that grid as its home grid

makes now that link open
and the focus being shifted
to exactly where i wanted.

thanks a lot!

Donleone, when you review that home page tutorial, keep in mind that you can even create your own custom home pages.  Allowing you to categorize your grids in any manner you choose, with whatever font size and headings you want etc.  If you need help let us know and I will record a quick video taking you through the steps.
