Personally, I think that the Hoisting process can be simplified if another command is added or the existing one "Hoist Selected Items" is expanded to check if there is hoist going on to turn it off when invoked.

It will bypass the need to go through the Hoist Dialog.
As it currently stands - I can assign shortcut to "Hoist Selected Items", but I need a different shortcut for the toggle of the Hoist Filter.

Good suggestion. In v88d, I'll simplify this:
  • Ctrl + H: Does the default action: Hoist selected and if already hoisted, turn hoist off
  • Ctrl + Shift + H: Hoist Special... : Shows the dialog
  • In additions, the command bars for specific actions remain

Will some command change? Or is just a shortcut change

With the above, I'm not sure how one can simply toggle hoist ON/OFF without hoisting what's currently selected.

I had (working perfectly, and fast. Not extra step, ever):
Ctrl + Shift + H : hoist selected
Ctrl + Alt + H : hoist up to parents
Ctrl + H : toggle hoist ON/OFF

[And I never see the hoist dialog -- forgot it even existed]

Exactly on point, Armando :)
I hope the toggle Hoist ON/OFF stays as a command where you can apply Ctrl+H as the shortcut.

I am doing the exact same thing regarding workflow, however, I would prefer having a single shortcut for toggle selected.
