Web clipping: paragraph formatting lost:

Clipping youtube comments,
  1. Top image = how it looks on youtube (cropped on the right)
  2. Bottom image is how it looks in IQ
the IQ version I find very difficult to read...

(Hoping this is an easy fix, as I realise it not a priority.)

1) online, youtube

2) and in IQ:

Works here with the Universal Clipper. To reproduce it I would need more information. Which clipper was used ?

I'll try a couple different browsers to see if it browser related, and will get back to you then

Hi Tom,

There is no webclipper... Try one of:
  1. FF Clipper
  2. IE Clipper
  3. Universal Clipper
(unless you've designed your own IQ webclipper..)

Sorry Pierre

Firefox Clipper
Firefox 47.0

Carriage returns (within a comment / post) are stripped out

I get the same results with pasting text into the Universal clipper

The text (copied from FF) pastes correctly in Cinta Notes

Hi Tom,

I looked at the content of the clipboard (IQ copies the selected content to the clipboard) and the carriage returns are not there.
Tried FF, Chrome, IE and Edge: All copy to the clipboard a Text format with carriage returns and an HTML format without

I cannot blame them though, the page is a real mess... There are about 10 levels of <DIV> tags and each paragraph is not separated by a <BR> as usually but are separate "Formatted strings" classes.

Pasting as HTML in MS Word does the same as in IQ, so it is clearly a clipboard issue.

CintaNotes probably pastes as text. If you paste as text in IQ, you'll see the CR. I'll add a command in the New Item dialog to paste as text (as opposed to pasting as HTML formatted)

For anyone else with a similar problem:
I see a workaround is to use the Universal Clipper and paste as plain text (I use my clipboard manager to do that, otherwise I guess paste into a text only application or editor and copy again).
Empty lines between paragraphs are lost, but the returns are kept
