I am running the latest portable version 96e on both my laptop and desktop.  I had my database open on my laptop last night with no issues, closed IQ and after dropbox finished syncing, then shut the laptop down.  This morning when I tried to open the database on my desktop it would crash on open.  I've experienced this before and usually just revert to the last backup.  But so far I've gone through several backups and every single one crashes on open.  I'm about to go back to my laptop and see if I can open one from there.  Below is the message I get when it crashes.  Any suggestions?  Thanks

Hi David,

Sorry to hear about that. Perhaps try a previous version. v95 is still online
I'll try to reproduce it

As of this moment where I am at on troubleshooting this is that the database opens on my laptop, but crashes on my desktop.  Both are running version 96e.  I also closed all tabs on my laptop and resynced to dropbox but the file (and every backup file I've tried to far) crashes on the desktop.

Hi Pierre, I hadn't see your message, great minds think alike....I just reverted back to version 95b.  It now opens on my desktop without crashing.  So there should be no issues going back and forth between 95b on the desktop and 96e on the laptop?

Another update.  I opened the database on the desktop PC in 95b.  I closed all of the open tabs, as in the past when I've encountered this as I've moved between machines I've gotten the impression that it may be caused by an open tab, maybe related to map views but that's just a wild guess since that's a commonality I've noticed in the past.

Anyhow, after closing all the tabs I'm now able to open the database on the desktop PC in 96e without it crashing.  I guess I'll see if that's a permanent solution or if it starts happening again once a particular grid or map view is opened.

Hi David,

I was going to propose to delete YourFile.ini on the problematic PC, to see if it solves it. What you've done is way to do the same thing (though a bit more complicated).

Good to know for the future, thanks Pierre.
