I like to have my columns grouped closely together with a white space between the last column and the HTML pane on the right:

 

 

But sometimes the columns fill all the available space to the HTML pane:

 

 

In the first example, if I re-size the item column, all the other columns keep their original sizes and move together (which is what I want).  But in the 2nd, when I try to make the item column smaller, instead of moving the other columns together, it makes the 2nd column huge:

 

 

There must be a simple answer but I can't find an option that controls this.
