Please consider making the grid item count warning both configurable and able to be disabled.
After a lot of heavy usage recently, I have a considerable number of grids that end up with qtys of 11xx, 15xx, occasionally 2000-3000. The warning slows me down.
I am more than willing to wait 5 seconds for them to load to show everything. And if it was configurable, personally I would set the limit at probably 3000 or so.
One example of a large grid is the daily journal file, with 1200 entries from the last 10 years. I have no problem whatsoever with a 5 second load time, and I really want to see everything to start.

No problem, but IMHO, a bit of filtering is in need if your grid contains 1000s of items ! Source filter, or date filter (on itemcreated may be)

I definitely see your point but I think it really depends on the kind of work flow. If one wants to quickly filter 1000s of items using columns, then one might want that behavior.

In v109:
  • New: Grid: Option to set the threshold for high number of items
