I am unclear from the manual what to actually do with grid groups. I think it's just implying it's show a subset of your numerous grids in a named group, then click the grid you're interested in.
The way I use it is to quickly load multiple grids from the properties pane. (From the home page requires switching back and forth)
For example, I click AdrsBook, then Categories, Daily,Inbox,InfoQube,QuickNotes,Todo and finally To-Do's, and they are all quickly loaded (except for grids triggering the annoying over 1000 warning).

1) Am I missing some other obvious uses for grid groups?
2) Is there another InfoQube capability to load multiple grids I'm not aware of?

Hi Keith,

That's about it... Grid groups were implemented before dashboards with provide similar (though different) functionality. In particular, dashboards can load a set of grids all at once, nicely laid out. I updated the page 7. Grid Groups

It wasn't obvious at first - the home page was described as a "dashboard" in the manual, and a dashboard type of grid wasn't clearly defined.
I found that a dashboard type of grid must be the "overview" grid in the  "IQ as a Relational Database: Book Review Process" writeup.
So now I've made multiple dashboard/overview grids for different purposes, and even have more than one dashboard/overview open at a time, and even have the calendar in the overviews.
I am so impressed with this capability.

Now that I have so much open, when and how should I use the "Unload Data" (and when and how do I load it back?)

True, the page about Home Pages needs updating
And Dashboards need to be documented

Hi Keith!
You can right click on a grid name in one of the grid's lists (View->Grids OR recent grids) and select "unload data". That works only if the actual grid isn't currently "visible" in the interface, if I'm not mistaken.

Not quite. All grids can be unloaded. However, if the grid is visible, it will then auto-load automatically (as it should)

Yes, that's what meant but wasn't precise enough (since unloading a grid serves only that purpose, if I'm not mistaken : unloading it – not unloading it to see it reload right away).
There are cases where I'd like to be able to unload visible grids too (when they're not completely hidden and are slowing down hierarchical operations). but it's not an urgent matter since there are workarounds.
