I have been looking at the 'Surface', it is OK but it could be a lot better.

 

Sorry to drop this on you Pierre when you already have more than too much to do. These are just observations.

 

I have one or two observations which might improve things.

 

Firstly the map should be re-drawn so that the item with the focus is at the centre of the map and you should be able to navigate around the map by using the arrow keys.

 

Secondly if items are dragged so that they are no longer touching each other then the links between them should always be drawn on the pane.

I am not a programmer but it seems to me that one could learn a lot from looking at how Gephi ( https://gephi.org/ ) draws it's maps. It uses an open source mapping package called GraphViz ( https://graphviz.org/ ) which may be used in other programs. ConnectedText uses GraphViz for doing it's mapping.
