 Under certain conditions, the New Item Dialog crashes IQ. 
The dialog works as expected as long as I don't use the document pane. As soon as I give focus to the document pane, IQ crashes.
I have not seen any entry on the forum related to this problem, so I'm thinking it may be due to a problem with my setup or option choices.
Has anyone experience this?

Can you reproduce it with the sample IQBase or the Welcome to IQ IQBase ? If yes, can you detail the steps you take ?

The new item dialog worked properly in the Welcome IQBase. I deleted the menu.dat file and found that the problem  disappeared. I had changed the keyboard shortcut to access the new item dialog, so that may have been the source of the problem.

If you can send the problematic menu.dat file, perhaps I can see the cause and provide a fix / workaround

I have still the same issue in v114d (and v114c). The new item dialog crashes Infoqube after few seconds.
the Universal Clipper craches as well.
I reproduce it with the Welcome to IQ IQBase.
 
The step to reproduce :
  • Edit / new item
  • put focus on the document pane (of the dialog)
  • Infoqubbe crashes
the Universal Clipper, the content is already in the document pane, and the dialog crashes whithout doing anything.

The issues seems to still be there in v114e. I've been working with user Nora and we're isolated a possible cause
I'll release interim v114f which will fix this by disabling the rich-text editing for the item text

In v114e, I delay opening the Tags and Fields panes, as it is perhaps the cause:
  • Change: New Item dialog: Tags and Fields panes are now only shown after pressing the "Show Panes" button
(fingers crossed !)

Users that have this crash, please report back the graphics card make / driver version

I've still the crash in InfoQube0.9.114gPortable.
 
My graphic card : Intel HD Graphics 4000, driver : Intel 10.18.10.4358 (12/21/2015)
 
I've 3 screens with 2 behind a thinkpad USB 3.0 Dock, driver DisplayLink 8.3.2008.0 (09/12/2017)
I've the same issue when the dock is off.
