When I paste a hyperlink into an item and continue with a space character, the link is recognized by IQ and becomes clickable. I'd very much like a similar (semi-)automatic approach to file paths, without having to use the Ctrl-K dialog. I know there is an option to open the file with a double-click while editing but having to enter edit mode beforehand doesn't seem very convenient, especially if you want to use the link to that file repeatedly. EccoExt works this way out of the box, even without requiring a space character to be typed following the hyperlink.

If an item consists only of a hyperlink or file path without the user following up with a space plus further text (which is usual if you just quickly paste a URL / file path as a new item), my preference would also be to immediately turn those into active links for the sake of consistency but that could be an option, of course. I seems to be the default behaviour for the vast majority of PIMs / tasks apps etc.

I'm sorry this is sort of a repeat post, but it concerns quite fundamental operations to this type of software so I took the liberty of re-phrasing my previous request.

Thanks for considering

Just a thought but if IQ recognised a file path it could check if it leads to a valid file.  If the path was valid it could be highlighted in blue but if it didn't lead to a file it could be highlighted in red to give the user some visual feedback that the link doesn't point anywhere meaningful.

The colours are just an example, they could be different.
