hi,

not putting this in as a bug as I'm really not sure what's going on. I've noticed that some of my databases have a Date field and some don't. Any idea what this is to do with? Was there a version of IQ that didn't have this field? Can't think of anything differentiating between these databases other than date of creation.

I mean I know I could create it - it's just a standard date field. But it's handy.

Hi David,

Indeed, the field named "Date" is not a system field, so it was perhaps not in all IQBases, and most likely not in the blank template.
All fields with IDs above 200 are user-defined (Date has field ID 227 in the Welcome to IQ database)

Have a great safe day !

True enough, Date is in amongst all the non-system fields, both ones I have added, and others. If I create a db now, Date is already there as one of the fields. I suspect the databases it is missing from are ones I created when I was first using IQ, four years ago. Maybe it was not then part of the standard "kit" for a new IQ database. Anyway, all is clear now, and I can easily add it where it is absent.

cheers
