I've done some bulk tagging operations today, and when I tag items with child tags, the parent tags are not immediately shown as being implicitly tagged. I tried different things to get the implicit tags to show as checked, e.g. F5, Ctrl+S, but then I finally succeeded when I closed and reopened the tags pane. I guess right click > Refresh List in the Tags pane would do the same thing.

When I tagged a single item with a child tag, the implicit parent tags were checked without the need for any such manual intervention.

Hi Pierre, I tried it again as follows:

I made a Drive_SSD tag in the tags pane and made it a child tag as shown. Here is before I checked the Drive_SSD tag for the highlighted items:

Here is after I checked the Drive_SSD tag - the parent tags (implicitly tagged) do not have a checkmark:

Finally here is after I right clicked the tags pane and clicked Refresh List - the parent tags (implicitly tagged) are now checked:

I was able to reproduce it. It has nothing to do with multiple items being selected

I has to do with the newly tag created. After you move a tag, the tags pane needed to be refreshed to update the tag hierarchy

This is fixed in v116i

In v116i:

Fixed: Tags pane: Using Alt+Arrow keys to move tags in the tags hierarchy did not refresh parent tags state (until pane was refreshed)
