I discovered InfoQube a few months ago (from Paul Miller's Blog). It is by far one of the best PIM I have ever run into, for the following reasons:

• The app is LOCAL on my machine, and I OWN the data. I no longer have to log onto a web site, run a slow app over an internet connection to access MY data sitting on someone else's server. I don't have to worry about (data) security breaches or the company going out of business (and there are many) and the app disappearing
• The app is AMAZING. Many other apps try to do some of the following but I think IQ is spot on
  • Clear and logical separation of data and view
  • Flexibility, expandability, customization available with the views (UI) and menus
  • Custom events triggers (auto-assignment rules and equations)
  • Expandability via custom VB scripts
• Amazing views
  • Surface is the most useful tool I have found for brainstorming. Many mind map tools rely heavily on using the mouse, and that gets in the way of rapid brainstorming and thought capture (I can type much faster than I can use a mouse). With IQ, I can open a grid, do rapid brainstorming, then view the data using surface to find and make connections and lines. Sweet!
  • Having multiple panes of grids is like having a combination of Kanban Boards and Excel! I can see lists side by side, and maybe even the same list but arranged in different ways. You can't do that with Kanban
  • Gantt view is powerful enough yet simple to use for basic projects
  • Rich text editor and IE combination for the doc pane

I can go on, and this is only a start of what I like about IQ. Granted, I have never used Ecco Pro so maybe that program is similarly powerful, but I can't get that program any more (nor do I want to).

In just a few months, InfoQube has become one of my most used (and probably most useful) computer programs and/or app that I use daily!
