Hi IQ Users !

The highlight of v1.125 was the first step in achieving Obsidian 2-way Sync
In v1.126 we took a pause to add some long standing features and fixes

We are now working on v1.127 with the goal of providing Obsidian to IQ sync.

In v1.127.0Pre13:

  1. New: Grid: Ctrl+G filter dialog improvements: Now supports date and number column filtering
  2. New: Calendar: Improved interaction between the mini-calendar and the main calendar
  3. New: Calendar: Context menu for repeating events
  4. New: Calendar: Context menu to convert a repeating event instance to a new item/event, optionally marking it as done
  5. New: Calendar: Up/Down keys now select prev/next events (sort of functional, more to come)
  6. New: Calendar: Option to set the scheduled area back colors
  7. New: Calendar: Repeating events: Moving an instance to its original date/time removes the event exception
  8. New: Calendar: Improve click and drag
  9. New: Calendar: Improved display of selected events
  10. New: Calendar: Option to show/hide an icon for repeating events
  11. New: Event dialog: Mark as done: Option to convert an instance of a repeating event to a separate event/item and mark it as Done
  12. New: Event dialog: WYSIWYG editors for Subject, Where and Description
  13. New: Event dialog: repeating days now reflect the first day of the week setting
  14. New: Event dialog: Where textbox now has a dropdown of previous entries
  15. New: Event dialog: context menu for hyperlinks (go link, edit link)
  16. New: Event dialog: Repeating event: new button to restore events in the series that were deleted
  17. New: Live-Search: Option to output to the Scratch grid (instead of the Search grid)
  18. Fixed: Grid: Dragging a sub-item to be a TLI in another instance of the same grid did not properly remove the parent
  19. New: Doc pane and Item Editor: Option to turn off the Auto URL detect (when pressing the space bar after text that can be interpreted as a URL)
  20. New: Properties pane: filter (same as Tags pane). Ctrl+F/G and start typing to filter. Down arrow to return to the pane
  21. New: NavBar: Right-click to set the number of entries for Items and grids (favorites, ...)
  22. New: NavBar: Supports the same expand / collapse shortcuts as the Properties pane (Ctrl+Space, Ctrl+Left/Right Arrow, Ctrl+1-9, Shift+Ctrl+1-9)
  23. New: NavBar: right-click on a tag to open the Tags pane
  24. New: Properties pane: Ctrl+G can be used to toggle the new filter On and Off
  25. Change: Properties pane: Header items are now selectable. This improves keyboard navigation
  26. Fixed: Manage Fields dialog: Deleting a field also remove the following field from the list (field was not actually deleted)
  27. New: Workspace: When dragging an item over a workspace tab, the tab will not be selected immediately. It is then now possible to drag over vertical tabs without causing a change in tab shown
  28. New: Text indexing: Confirmation dialog shown for large files
  29. Change: Grid: Pasting text into multiple cells no longer shows confirmation dialog. Use Undo (Ctrl+Z ) to cancel paste if needed
  30. Fixed: Grid: Moving an item to be under a new parent could remove it from another parent item
  31. Fixed: Grid: Right-click on a column header to sort did not follow the Sort Items / Sort Items and sub-items setting. Dialog shown if sub-items will be sorted
  32. Fixed: Live-Search: Right-click > Row Height: Setting it to 0 incorrectly sets it to 16 upon reopening Live-Search
  33. Fixed: Calendar: Left pane: Hyperlinks were shown but were not enabled
  34. Fixed: Calendar: Left pane: Date fields were not listed in order
  35. Fixed: Calendar: Item > Mark as Done (Ctrl+M) now correctly works for repeating events
  36. Fixed: Calendar: All-day and unscheduled events did not always sort correctly
  37. Fixed: Google calendar sync: sync failed if there were more than 5 reminders
  38. Fixed: NavBar: Items and events with hyperlinks: Links were shown but were not enabled
  39. Fixed: Doc pane: Clean Up command now preserves the size of images
  40. Fixed: Item Editor: Creating some hyperlink types did not work (e.g. mailto:)
  41. Fixed: Find and Filter dialog: Action Select by Value did not work
  42. Fixed: Reminder dialog help points to the incorrect web page
  43. Fixed: Text indexing: For certain file types, indexing was done even tough the file was binary. Use Database > Repair to fix this issue
  44. Fixed: Many UI did not handle Ctrl+A correctly (select all)
  45. Fixed: Program Install: Prompt to restart the computer was sometimes shown when it should not
  46. Fixed: Database Tools > More: Rebuild sometimes caused a program lock

I was referring to the icons stored in the AppFiles folder that indicate a parent item's folding state, like open3Dark.ico, close3Dark.ico. I replaced these two with custom ones but after unzipping the update, IQ now just uses the standard +/- icons. Maybe the choice of icon #3 was just overwritten, but for the life of me I can't find where to check on / change that setting.

Got it, it's back to what it was before, thanks! Apparently, the unique (?) luxury of an options search makes users (well me, at least) too lazy to actually scroll through the options if they can't find the keyword they're looking for.

Pasting of entire IQ items after they have been cut with the Delete-2 option no longer seems to work due to changes in handling the respective dialogs...

Perhaps it would be best to implement direct, shortcut-able commands for the 'cut from location' (rather than 'delete entirely') and 'paste IQ items' options?

Many thanks

Pierre.

Thank you for the hard work during the holidays.

127.Pre2.

Ctrl-home & Ctrl end now work perfectly. Navigation up and the grid hierarchy is now fixed.

Much appreciated.

Pierre - At your recommendation I have moved to using IQ Backup as my main safety system (my old system was as you know clumsy)

What I am asking is can the IQ backup system be improved by the following

1. Have backup setup to go to 2 separate designated locations (JIC the first location fails)

2. Have a revert to previous backup button in which I can simple fall back to my last backup or better still have something a list of backups to revert to. This would enhance testing new features much more confidently.

3. Can the Backup image be booted as as virtual machine.

Much work to be done I know but it would take IQ to a new level of security.

Some feedback: Am finding the new popup dialog every time I edit a repeating event too invasive. 98% of the time my repeating events don't have exceptions, hence the new MO just means a more complicated workflow demanding extra attention and clicks. Perhaps it would be more elegant to add an extra button next to OK on the event dialog to handle exceptions. Or maybe have the dialog appear only after an exception in the series has been created in the first place. Right now I'm getting the dialog when OK'ing any repeating event edit, even for series of events that don't have any exceptions. Thanks.

Fair comment.

For now though, the dialog is not shown in you modify the first (master) event. I copied the way Google Calendar does it...

How about if the dialog is shown only if some of the repeating events were in the past (and not if the series starts in the future)... What do you think?

Sorry, I'd missed the second part of your post with the question somehow. I'd be happy if the dialog did not appear when I edit aspects of a repeating event, like the underlying item's text, when there are no exceptions to the recurrence in the series.
