Hey. Want to create my very first ever (very simple) Gantt chart just showing a kind of timeline based on five or so upcoming tasks / dates. So far, I've researched some general how-to and installed the Office web component. I have openend a Pivot chart view and it asks me to "drop fields here".
Well, I've tried dragging a date field from the Properties pane onto the chart view but that hasn't done anything. The manual page only links to a video on how to do this in Excel, which goes far beyond what I have in mind.
Any pointers would be very welcome!
Thanks
How do I ?

Hi Left,
Indeed, the documentation is... sparse
There is a toolbar just above the pivot table and there is a Fields button. Click it and you'll see a list of fields (same as those shown in the grid). Drag from there to the pivot chart
OT, what is the relationship between your desire to use a Gantt chart and Pivot charts?

You are spot-on as ususal - Pivot is not what I'm trying to do, I was going down the wrong corridor, so to speak. Have now found the Gantt functionality in the Grid menu and was able to create pretty much exactly what I wanted. Great stuff! Two observations / questions:
1. The font color on the bar at the top of the Gantt chart is black, which does not seem to have been adjusted to dark mode and is almost unreadable against the dark background.
2. Can I change the colors used in the chart for individual items in the grid?
Many thanks!

2. Okay, so that works for each individual item (sorry, could have RTFM). But how do I change the default color that is applied to new items?
