I am late to the AI Chatbot party but it could be a lot worse since ChatGPT only came out in 2022. I've been using AI Chatbots a lot lately. I started out with Copilot but lately I have been using Gemini more and mor. Copilot seems to be focus on being very concise whereas Gemini gives a bit more detail in its first answer. I've also tried ChatGPT, and there are quite a few others (Claude, Perplexity etc) that I have not even tried yet.
The frustrating thing with some of the chatbots is that they often don't provide the usual ways to save the responses. Copilot for example - there's no File > Save As option, no Print option. But I've just discovered today that both Copilot and Gemini have a Copy icon that appears under each chatbot response, and I've discovered this copies the response to the clipboard in Markdown format.
Then I've discovered I can paste this Markdown output in Notepad++ - if I use the Markdown Viewer plugin, I see the rendered Markdown text in a pane on the right side, and this gives me options to Export to HTML or PDF.
I've also discovered I can get this content into the IQ Doc pane, with its structure preserved. Two ways:
(1) Doc Pane Menu > File > New > New Markdown File. Paste Markdown from Copilot into the Doc pane. To view rendered Markdown, Doc Pane Menu > View > Browse Mode.
(2) Right-click in Doc pane text area > Paste Special > HTML Format. Converts Markdown to corresponding HTML, preserving the structure that's in the Markdown.
Now I'd like to paste the Markdown from Copilot into the IQ Grid, with the structure of the content being replicated in the form of an outline (hierarchy of parent/child items). Separate "Suggestion" post about that.
I'd love to have every AI response automatically saved to a timestamped Markdown file.
