I couldn't find this in the manual. I did what I thought was the logical thing: selected the existing column group and also the new columns I wanted to add.
This created a new column group with just the new columns and wiped out my whole existing column set. The columns disappeared. "Add column" showed they were still assigned to the grid and "Hidden columns" showed they weren't hidden. But they were nowhere to be found.
Looks like you have to ungroup the existing set, then create a new group that includes the new columns.

How do I ?

Hi Wayne,
I was able to reproduce the issue. It works correctly if you expand your column group then select all the group columns plus the new column.
Otherwise, if the group is closed, the new group only contains the main column and the new one. Gone are the others.
If you close the grid and open it again, your columns will show up again. This is clearly a bug.
I'll see how I can fix this rather important issue.
