Any way I can filter all the changes to 'books' out of my 'new posts' page?  I just want to see the 'forums' section.

especially with all the work on 'books' at the moment:-
another helpful feature would be the capability to mark all posts on the 'new posts' page as read, or to mark all posts on current page as read

I'd just like to see the forums and the blogs sections.

Even when there is no book activity, when the forums get hectic, it is near impossible to digest everything, unless you're on here daily, and spend an inordinate amount of time

Bookmarks aren't enough. (I've got old ones, that I don't know why they are there, without reading through the entire thread)

As mentioned in the comment in Forum .SNDB 2-16-2009 , a mantis-like link is the only way I see to really keep track of things.

Pierre, is that meant to group the types of posts (Forum/Blog/Books) ?
If so, it's not working (well)  here - I see I can sort by columns but then the date sorting is lost - e.g. sorting by first column - it seems to sort randomly apart from the fact that all forum posts etc are together (makes no dofference if I sort by something else first)

Yes it is. Click on the tabs above the list or bookmark specific pages, like this one: http://www.sqlnotes.net/drupal5/index.php?q=xtracker/type/forum which only lists forums. It works fine here.

If users like this, I'll make the same mods as I did for the regular tracker (red for new comments, new column for last poster name)

I like it a lot.   I still need something to filter out "books" from Recent Posts>My Posts.
