Pls give this problem some priority. It's been hanging around for -- at least -- 20 weeks.
Thank you.

Some PCs are missing an entry in the registry. I created a reg file (attached) simply download and double-click on the EMLRegistryFix.reg file and reboot

The missing entry is: [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.eml] : "Content Type"="message/rfc822"  (String value type)

HTH !

p.s. the fix will be included in the next release

Win7 IQ
Beta_9.25_w5

Symptom: EML msg contents open in TB instead of being viewed in HTML pane
For dummies like me, here is a step by step

Run regedit
Close all folders to TLI
In 1st folder "HKEY_Classes_Root"
<ctrl>+f or Menu > Edit > Find ".eml"
Match to image below

HTH
Thanks to Pierre.

Is it possible to do something in the registry to read "pdf" files in the HTML pane?
If so, what changes need to be made?

Tks, Pierre. In this case our 2nd lines are the same but I wonder about the default value. In the Thunderbird case, that program was named but not so in the pdf situation.

If you can view PDF files inside the HTML pane, would you publish your registry settings here so I can compare with the above.
Thank you.

mine mighnt be the best example - I'm running Adobe Reader 7   **

Registry entry for .pdf -

(default)               REG_SZ      pdf_auto_file
Content Type       REG_SZ      application/pdf

**(there's been a bug in A.Reader for a long time - I was trying to find the last functioning version - #7 wasnt it but it's still in place...)

Just to confirm that Adobe X (10) has the same entries here (with ".pdf" selected - as in your screenshot Jan)
Did you try these Jan?

Tom, sorry to be so thick but I'm not sure what you want me to search for in the registry.
If you wanted me to search .pdf, then this is my registry entry. Note the default line is not the same as yours

default REG_SZ  AcroExch.Document
Content Type REG_SZ  application/pdf

Exactly what is the search criteria for Adobe that you want me to use?

Thanks for your interest in my problem.

I was just confirming that my registry entries work - i.e. I can view PDF files in IQ html pane, also with the latest Adobe Reader (previously I was using version 7).
I was wondering:
  1. if you still had the problem viewing pdf files in html pane in IQ
  2. if so, had you tried using the reg entries I posted above? - I presume (but obviously no guarantees!) that if you modify your registry that it will work there too.
