I haven't yet experimented with the new option to just have colour show only in certain field(s)

But I notice it appears I'm unable to remove colour from an item via the context menu - but it's actually that it now requires a refresh.
I know this wasn't the case before but not sure when exactly it changed

reproducible in clean install with sample database

Version 0.9.25Pre-Rel28 build 2010-08-08 00:22:12

EDIT/ marked as solved Aug 10th

Comments

I have noticed something else in PreRel 28 that is possibly related to this.  I use a grid for a to-do list that uses the color coding from the sample DB that changes the item color depending on the due date, blue and yellow for upcoming, red for overdue and so on. Until PreRel 28, when I entered the date done, the color would automatically revert to the standard white. Now it too requires a refresh before changing.

funnily enough:
I have a bunch of tick-box fields that change the item's colour - I tested them earlier & they worked. But they dont any more ... - I mean they work, but they now require a refresh

Also,
possibly related:
after changing item colour this way, there is a display problem with IQ - if I alt+tab away and back with IQ in dualpane mode, the first pane is no longer visible - i.e.  I can see the app behind or the desktop.
I'll keep an eye on this and try pin it down more definitely

EDIT:  with the display problem - I have to close & reopen grid before it will 'function' properly after this problem. Items wont expand. the hierarchy is jumping all over the place

Tom: I reported some display problems too but in another forum. I thought it might have to do with some kind of memory conflict but now you're reporting a similar / same issue so I'm beginning to wonder if it's something else.

I also sent you a PM via IQ re: backup directions you asked me to look at.

If you can confirm that's fixed John, I'll mark the thread as solved

Tom/Pierre,
Yes, PreRel 29 fixed my problem too; my to-do list now has slightly fewer items in red
Thanks,
John

Oups... I'll fix that ASAP. In waiting, set Grid>>Properties>>Options>>Item color applies to fields:#, Item

Once back in the grid, press F5 to refresh.
