I have no idea what's going on.

- every thing I enter in my task grid is reset automatically after a refresh.
- I can't reopen the grid after closing it

Some clues :
- it's the only grid where I've used the gantt
- it's the only grid that was hoisted.
- I created a "new window" to have two task grids to work with.
- When I closed it, it still appears "checked" in the grid menu.

I don't seem to have lost much, fortunately.

One more thing, it's the only grid that was hoisted.

But I have the feeling that it's more gantt related as it never happened before and today was the only day I used the gantt meaningfully in a pretty long while.

Thanks

[Added the "hoisted" element to first post]

That's great news !

(perhaps the thread title could be revised to be less... dramatic... )

Sorry about that.
I really thought I lost many things. Changed the title.

However, I'll add to the first post (and the title) that when the grid starts to act up (happened to me again just now) and I decide to close it, I can't reopen it. The grid menu show that the task grid is still opened (even if not) and it can't be re-opened (as shown in the screenshot -- first post).

One more thing :

1- I created a "new window" to have two task grids to work with.

This + gantt + hoisting constitute all the ingredients

Haven't been able to reproduce it yet.

Happened again -- to some extent -- this morning.

I closed the Task grid, and it was still appearing in the Grid's menu. However, I shut down IQ before testing other aspects. I was too sleepy I guess... Damn!

I think I've got circular equations going on here.

For now, you can remove the field settings in the Gantt section of the Grid Properties. This will open the loop

Sure... But that means that I can't use the gantt.. Right ? I have personal fields for almost all fields there.

And I'm not sure that this fixes the problem where I close the grid and I can't reopen it. Will see...

I was not able to reproduce it, but suspect it was caused by field update loops. I've reworked the links between the gantt and field values to avoid such loop, so it should be fixed (in v0.9.25E)

Seems fixed. Gantt is pretty fluid. Thanks! :-)

Nope, this happened today again. It's half fixed.
I still get the problem where :
1- I close the task grid,
2- it disappears
3- it remains checked in the grid menu and I  can't reopen it.

Eventually, IQ crashes (with a generic error message).

(Note that, as I said in Mantis, it's most probably related to the gantt, or some part of the gantt, and it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the hoisting or windows/grid duplication I mentioned in the first post.)

[EDIT 2010 11 10] : this happens several times a day. I'll work in a grid, edit a few fields, work in the properties pane. Nothing else apart  from that. Not even playing with the gantt. So I don't know what causes it. I'm starting to think it's properties pane related. But this is sooooo vague. I just updated Mantis' info.

Edited mantis title 2010 11 11 :
MANTIS :
1071
Sort Bar activation/deactivation could deactivate(grayed out)/activate the Sort Box (in source bar)  Suggestionfeature

I still have the problem where I close a grid, and it still appears as checked in the grid menu. Re clicking on the grid name in the grid menu will now make a "dummy grid" appear, but with not grid : just some blank window. I can close that window, but after that I know that stuff will become unstable. For instance I just crashed IQ by trying to close a grid. Some circular object reference maybe ?

I was able to reproduce it and fixing it right now...

This problem isn't as frequent as it used to be (the weird empty-blank grid phenomena), but it still happens once in a while. And when it does, all columns loose their word wrap settings.
