In version 9.25E. After I search/hoist in the current grid, when I turn hoist off, i don't came back to the same state or grid -- now all the items I had expanded are folded in. Is there any way to set it up differently.
Thanks.

Perhaps Grid >> Save item states was not checked ?
One more thing -- it was supposed to be fixed but it still isn't -- after closing the file, when I reopen it and go to hyperlink dialogue, it doesn't save the last state.
Yes, it's true that when alternating between hoisted and non-hoisted views, IQ doesn't save separate states for both views; i.e. When you come back to un-hoisted view, you basically see your hoisted view state, but will all the extra items around.
- It would be nice if both states were saved separately.
- it's possible to have two grids tiled vertically, offering different views; however, this isn't ideal either : as soon as you refresh the unhoisted grid, it will get hoisted too, mimicking the other one.
Pierre : is it possible to correct these (or one) shortcomings?
IT worked this way in earlier versions (before added options for hoisting) I liked it because I could search for an item in the grid and then simply "unhoist" it and I was where I began.
Jay suggests here that coming out of hoist mode, the user should see the items in the grid as they were before hoisting (i.e. : their state should be saved)
That way, the user can switch back and forth between hoisted mode and un-hoisted freely without having to re-expand collapsed parents etc. each time.
I honestly don't remember if it was that way before. Maybe. it's certainly a good idea anyway.
