For those of us who made $50 donation for a life-long upgrade, shouldn't we be able to enter our license key and never have any version expire? Is that a feature for the future? What if Pierre gets hit by a bus? Would that mean all you guys that have used IQ for years are then out of business?

Your license allows continued use of the version of your choice. I have not "upgraded" to 5b. My license information is entered and 5 is registered and functional.
and... I can assure you that Pierre hasn't been hit by a bus !
Development should also accelerate quite soon, I'm pretty sure. But I'll let Pierre himself talk about plans and time frames when he'll get the chance and time to do so.
