OK, so it's neat that chking tue | wed etc This Week also gets chkd etc.

But in looking @ my GTD list I decided to select items I was going to do 'tomorro'
I checked tomorrow
The next day I looked @ today grid thinking that my tomorrow items (from yesterday) would appear in the today grid
nope

So......  how do you use GTD grid to get your life organized?

Hey Jan

What grid is this?

My guess is that you can try to
(1) set a due date and show the items that have a due date in your grid
(2) make an equation where if not done/completed then date+1 (or something like that)
(there was a discussion not to long ago about null and duedate or completed)

I am trying to use the calendar and it does not seem integrated with the grids, so pretty much every grid has to be changed so I get things to show up in the calendar. It's a work in progress, but, as is sometimes the case, the IQ calendar does not always work as I expect it to.

For example, I need for everything to reference the same due date, whether I create a task under a person (as in your other posting) or a project (even if the task is not yet assigned to the person. A task is a task regardless to me. So I understand your GTD frustration.

For me, it's been important to keep playing around and stay abreast on the postings. Also, many items are discussed in the old forum, but some of them may not still apply and they can be long. (And we can not print them!) I really wish I could get the forums downloaded in a grid to my computer. (HINT!)

The Inbox is the source GTD grid I was referring to, Ericka since it seems to set up things like if it's today, it's also this week, etc. I guess we are then to make specialized grids for today, this week, etc or else to filter for a specific date or date range. I just think a lot of this stuff should be more automated.

And I remember reading that -- at the moment -- the calendar & grid data are not linked but presumably this is what Pierre is hard at work to improve, i.e. user enters an item in the graphical calendar it will also appear in a grid & visa versa. Wouldn't that be neat !!

Thanks for the links. I will read the articles altho it looks like most of that stuff will be too much for my mental acuity.

in new site-manual, see

re date functions, certainly some of that stuff has been covered here of late, but I couldnt say where off-hand ...(cant find it either unfortunately)

I know one thing that has changed is
To show current date (without current time) in the done field when "Field X" is ticked
>>   in edit fields, paste the following line under "Field X"  in Equation / Auto assignment rules
>>  A:Done=int(date)

I put a strikethrough there cause it should be:-
A:Done=int(now())

and if I remember correctly
A:Done=int(now() [Pierre_Admin edited]
A:Done=now()
will add current date and time
