With the advent of IQ's new email feature in v9.026 pre rel 7 I thought it might be useful to see how one user put it to use.
I will add more detailed instructions/images to this msg later but here's an overview.

(1) Thunderbird filters for financial emails, i.e. statements ready, new bill due, etc
(2)  A separate filter hones those down to "bill due" via various phrases contained in msg body. TB filter/action forward these to a new email2IQ@google.com account created for this purpose.

(3) New Email2IQ email settings search for msgs at that account periodically & d/l them into IQ Inbox (Journal or whatever you call your everything grid by creation date)
(4) There I assign 3 fields manually: bill, $$amount, DateDue (or DueDate whatever you call it)

(5) Those items appear in IQ Bill grid (copies remain in TB & Gmail)
(6) As they are marked paid, they are filtered out of the grid so I know what is left to be paid
(7) Recurring bills that don''t involve a particular ebill are assigned to "recurring" field & are updated to the next due date automatically when marked done (thanks to Armando)

My wife tells me I have a way of making things complicated. She may be right & some of you may have more streamlined ways of keeping track of e-bills. If so, let's try to improve the ideas in this thread and start other threads with images, etc so others can see how useful IQ can be.

Thanks for sharing that, Jan. It'll certainly give us ideas on how to implement the "e-mail to IQ" feature.

#2 is a great idea. I'll try to use that strategy for certain types of email.

P.S. your wife is probably right.   But then... she hasn't seen my own db !
