Can't open file

Submitted by sfinxx on 2010/01/06 08:39
Hi,

I'm unable to get InfoQube to run. The program hangs, whenever I try to open a file. I can create a new file and save it. But I cannot open it. I tried quite a number of things already. Among others I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, cleaned my system thoroughly, received a copy of a installer with some changes and installed it.

I still have the same problem. Here's the errorlog.txt file. My system is Windows 2000 Server Professional and FF 3.0.14

Anyone there who can help?

Desktop Search integration

Windows desktop search is an incredibly usefull function, improved in vista, and better again in 7. For those that don't know, in addition to doing searches for simple strings you know are in either a document or email, you can also be much more specific with it by adding control tags, e.g. from:phil, subject:holidays, author:, date: etc, etc, etc.

Here's a couple of links to help you drive this great function:

I regularly use it to find a email, or a document across all the archives in miliseconds.

Which leads me to my suggestion.

maybe it's just me -> still find copy / paste confusing

Every time I try to use copy / paste function -- even w the new fancy dialog (much better, thank you) -- sometimes I still end up with confusing results like:

  • no pasted data (may be a matter of my display settings)
  • pasted in a location other than what was indicated by new fancy (excellent addition, thank you) arrows
  • now @ the level I planned & thought I dropped for
<CTRL><D/D> works like gangbusters but isn't always a convenient solution
Maybe it's just me. I'd like to hear from others on this matter.

Thanks.

If anyone is keen, there is a recent article on outliners here:

Which talks about the "cute" online outliner http://thinklinkr.com/.

It references quite a few outliner-type applications, but not a mention of InfoQube

If anyone wants to comment, you could reach the author at JamesFallows@theatlantic.com

Problematic jpg in HTML pane

Submitted by ajr on 2010/01/02 00:21
I've added links to a number of jpg files that display properly in the HTML pane, but I've come across a couple that don't.  As far as I can tell, the format of the images and items is identical to the ones which display properly.  These jpgs have all been saved to a local folder.

The jpgs in question:
