GanttChart crashes IQ

Submitted by mca1 on 2011/09/15 14:33
Hi all,

I got over a bug/crash in IQ 0.925W build.
It occurs in the GanttChart.

To replay it:
Open a gantt chart and zoom in until you can see the Days (S-M-T... and so on). Now create a timechart-bar thats only a few millimeters long (so to say - e.g. one day from 0h to 12h). After releasing the mouse button your IQ should crash.

This happens both with installer and portable version and on both XP and Win7 machines...

opml import does not set ParentID or LinkOrder

Submitted by reesd on 2011/09/15 12:22
It seems that opml import is not correctly setting the ParentID (¯Items.ParentID) or LinkOrder. So even though items have a parent, they are not shown under the parent in the grid.

So for instance, if I import this simple OPML
<opml version="1.0">
    <head>
        <title>Outline1</title>
    </head>
    <body>
        <outline text="a">
            <outline text="aa">
                <outline text="aaa"></outline>
                <outline text="aab"></outline>

Drag and drop does not create windows shortcut

Submitted by Jon on 2011/09/13 08:05
I have made several attempts on different machines (with OS from XP through 7) to figure this out. It seems that when I drag a file to any database and tick the option to create a windows shortcut, it does not. By that I mean that I see the hyperlink text in the grid, but no corresponding shortcut is created at the location. The link seems to point to a non-existent shortcut.

Hyperlinks directly to the file work fine.

I'm using version W.

Thanks.

Clip problem

Not sure if I am doing something wrong. I don't usually use Add Item, but I am reasonably sure that this worked some time ago.

1. Using Win+N, I open the Add Item dialogue.
2 Try to enter a url. It appears briefly, then is gone.
3. None of the highlighted text from the website appears in item text. I have the check boxes configured correctly.

I use Opera. I find it a terrific tool for the research I do and for work as well (or perhaps I am just so used to it). I know that it handles clipboard information differently than other browsers, but Zoot is able to pull this off correctly (it is a DDE issue). It would be nice if the url would be copied over automatically.

CPU usage rises while using the grid

Submitted by mca1 on 2011/09/08 13:28
Hi there,

since 2009 I tried a lot of tools to support my daily planning and work-routines. At the moment I stick with MyLifeOrganized (MLO) but after discovering InfoQube I am really up to a change. This seems by far the most promising project I came across in the last years. As I am also quite satisfied with MLO I want to make sure that InfoQube fits all my needs before I go for it.

One thing that disturbs me right now is a noticeable increase in CPU load when I navigate through or simply click in the grid. InfoQube sits with zero CPU and about 32megs of Mem, but when I click inside the cells the CPU loads goes up to ~20-30% and the fan of my notebook jumps in.

This is quite disturbing. I fluent working inside the grid is hindered by that at the moment.

Do we need to reconcile/cleanup issue tracking and voting

Submitted by reesd on 2011/09/02 09:37
I'm wondering if we should look at moving from Mantis and UserVoice to something that does both.

Right now issue reporting and tracking is a bit of a mixed bag. Most updates list forum threads rather than issues and most folks dont bother with Mantis. Mantis also doesn't support voting and its bug issue seems to indicate it will not anytime soon. Its also behind in functionality in other ways from newer issue tracking sites.

And uservoice is only used by some, and not lined up with Mantis. It also doesn't give any of the release management that a development team needs.

Youtrack (and Jira) is way better.
