This is present in versions L and M.

1. Open Manage Fields
2. Create a new field
3. Observe that the box indicating the presence of code in the field is ticked. This is problem 1. There is no code.
4. I make the field type as text.
5. I want to create a pull down field, so I open Editor.
6. Cannot tick Auto List nor can anything be entered in the box below.
7. Closing and re-opening Manage Fields clears the ticked box under #3 and allows entries in Editor.

I don't know if other areas of Manage Fields are affected too. I don't have the time to thoroughly test.

This is infuriating when one has several new fields to enter. To quote that great American philosopher, Homer Simpson, "I'm not a praying man, but Superman, please help!"

This bug's been around since early last year, but I'm not sure it's been reported until now.

Here's a (hopefully very temporary) workaround:

"When a field is created, it's not possible to edit anything related to the pop-up list (Editor section).
One needs to switch to another field and come back to the newly created field."

Just create the new field, click text, save, then click any existing field, click the new field and the editor area will be available.

Thank you Keith. I didn't know about that work around, nor did I realize how long the bug has been present. Really not a great solution, but it's better than what I have been doing. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

Wow, thanks. This means that the file will be M1, right? I look forward to this. It's too hard to deal with work arounds.
