It took me a while to track down why multi-item pastes were not working for me, but it turns out they fail if the Item column is not teh first column. This happens in N and Q1.

Here is a screencast. In a new sample data base I paste multiple lines and get blanks, then I move Item to be the first column, when I paste again it works correctly.

Hi,

I never use the  "full line" selection as the default selection mode --  it seems that this is what you're using from the screencast.
I believe that full line always behave like this : starts pasting from the first columns. I use temporarily use "full line" to paste full tables in IQ (starts pasting from the first column), and this is how it behaves, which is expected, IMHO.

If you choose grid->select mode->multi column, this doesn't happen.

I don't recall why I switched to "full line", but I will switch back to multi-column and see if I can remember :).

I'll watch out for 0.9.25R also.

Hi Pierre,
could you tell us how this will be fixed ? I use "full line" pasting in a number of grids to paste multiple fields (tables). Will this still accurately work, whatever the order of columns is ?
Thanks.

When select mode is Item, the content will be pasted in the column that has the focus

Thanks. So if I want to paste a table in IQ (spreading the cells/columns content across several fields/columns), how will I be able to do that?
Before, I just needed to select the # column and paste... and choose "paste each line into separate items...". And voilà, a full table in an IQ grid.

BTW, I'm still having problems with columns selection. Most of the time when I ctrl click headers, it seems that IQ enters the "move header" mode instead of  "select column". I have to reclick several times before the column is actually selected/unselected. I thought "ctrl" was canceling the "move header" mode (sorry, don't know how to call it)?

What I described is when the grid select mode is Item. No change was done to Multi-Column. I'm considering removing the Item select mode anyway.

I don't have any control on the sensitivity of the move. The grid is particular sensitive. The slightest movement triggers it.

Ok, thanks. I'll test it when available.
