It seems that the display of text in the Item field has changed - instead of doing normal
word wrap, text gets cut off and "..." is inserted, even though there would be more than
enough room to display the text. (See screenshot - the word "Teams" gets changed to "Team..." ?!?)

Then again, in other items, longer text displays.
I cannot figure out why this is happening, or how to make it stop, is this a bug in the new grid?

thanks

Seems that you,ve got multi-line display disabled. Simply right click on item column header (or click on View menu) --> manage fields --> select your "item" field --> go in General-->properties section on right side of the manage fields window. Select multi-line. Save. OK.

Thanks for the quick reply Armando!
Unfortunately, I have the multiline checked, as can be seen by the extended screenshot below .

in the first line it cuts off the "e" from "Change" and the "m" from Workstream !!??!!

This is weird because I have the last version installed :

Version 0.9.24 Pre-release 7 build 2009-01-06 10:14:22 Beta
Running in Portable mode.

It might either be an option that I don't know about, or... a weird bug happening with carriage returns in cells.

Have you tried closing and reopeing your grid ?

(have to go now, unfortunately...)

(had to go off myself to make dinner ;-)

I am using the same version, portable as well.
It only seems to do this with the last 1-2 letters of a word, even though they would very
comfortably fit into the cell.  hmmmm ..... weird - maybe it is a  bug in the grid?

Strange indeed... Could it be the font used? Can you try switching to Arial Unicode MS?

If that fixes it, please report back the problematic font and I'll forward it to the my grid supplier

Yes, that was it Pierre,
Both Corbel and Calibri cause this problem - both worked in the past or I would not have them set as defaults.

Thanks for the tip!

I use Corbel too. A question of size, most probably.

hmm, what size are you using?
Corbel 8 or 9 will produce the weird results on my machine.

stranger and stranger.....
based on your answer Armando, I tried out Corbel on my Notebook in the office today, and.....
it displays quite normally, just as one would expect

Very weird indeed , but, I am just glad that there are fonts that will display on both machines.
Thanks again
