I can paste in the add item dialog/window, no problem. If I right click in any fields there, there's a paste option in the context menu.

Thanks Dave. Just tried it again & no go. Repeated steps I posted. "Paste" was not option available from context menu.....
Hmmmm. the plot thickens.
Pierre, any ideas?

Did you try pasting elsewhere to see if it works ? from your screen cast, it  might look like a clipboard problem since the paste option is there, only it's greyed out as if nothing was in the  clipboard.

Good question Armando & the answer is yes, going thru the exact same steps on the exact same data, I can -- for instance -- paste to Notepad.

Hi Jan,
this is weird.
I know this is probably annoying to do, but could you redo your screencast with a more explicit copy action ? (i.e. 1- when you copy, do it through the menu instead of shortcut keys. 2- then maybe show a paste it in notepad, 3-and then show IQ's add item dialog with the non-existent paste option in the context menu)

It's not bother to do it but I can tell you:

if I copy / paste by menu, it works fine within HTML pane
If I copy / paste by <CTRL>+C, <Win>+N, paste in the HTML pane, paste is NOT available
If I copy / paste by <CTRL>+C, <Win>+N, paste in the item TEXT area of the dialog, paste works via <CTRL>+V or context menu
If I copy / paste by shortcut, i.e. <CTRL>+C , I can paste to Notepad via context menu or <CTRL>+V

Does this help?
.

Thanks for the info.

Do you have a clipboard extender/manager ?

Well... I'm sorry to say that I really can't reproduce that issue. I tried disabling/enabling my own clipboard manager, but I still have no problem. :(
Maybe someone else will be able to solve the problem.

That said, a detailed  screencast might help us noticing something you haven't noticed.

Thanks for trying Armando.

This problem continues here. I get around it by copying whatever source material I want via <CTRL>+C, then
I create a new item from within IQ, then
I manually open HTML pane <F12> since I usually keep it closed
I switch focus to HTML pane
From context menu paste is available & I use it to paste data into pane

*BUT* I think I have found the problem.

Now I just have to find the solution, i.e. the new setting (using latest FF, v4.01)

Interesting. Thanks for sharing!
So it seems to be caused by some security settings. Hmmm.
I'm still on firefox v3.6.7 for "productivity" reasons... :)

True, but isn't he trying to paste to the New Item HTML section ? That section is internally using IE...

when I did click on IE icon & it brought up v9.0.8112.16421
I have a feeling this problem has to do w browser setting (see error msg) but I don't know which setting

Hi Pierre. Yes I saw the warning but since I didn't actively update to IE9 I didn't think it applied to me. Now I'll follow the advice @ "WARNING DO NOT INSTALL IE9" Tx
