In 0.9.25V I can't seem to close the Advanced Find window, even restarting IQ doesn't get rid of it.

If its detached it doesn't close period - nothing seems to work - hitting close, hitting escape, clicking on the toolbar icon, or checking auto-close and doing a search.

If its attached then I can close it with the X, but it pops right up again the next time I change grids.

I never even use the thing, I just hit the wrong key combo. I was trying to get auto-search with its weird Ctrl-F3. I've fixed my key combos now so I will never launch advanced find again, but I still need to get the darn thing closed....

Thanks,
d

While I am on the subject. I believe Auto-Search should be moved to the Edit menu next to the other Finds.

I personally would also rename it to something like "Find in Grid" and rename "Find" to "Find in IQ" . I'm happy to update the docs if you do.

While we are at, let's remove "Find and Replace" since it does nothing. Every so many months I try to use it again and then spend time finding out that it does nothing. For new users I am sure its much worse.

I personally make Auto-Search my Ctrl-F also because I think its more consistent with the rest of the windows world, but I'm sure there are existing users who are used to the current Ctrl-F so I won't argue that one because its easy for me to change.

Thanks,
d

I'll see about moving Auto-Search

In v0.9.25W, Find and Replace is now only visible in the VBScript editor. Thanks for reporting !

Hi !

The pane not closing issue is fixed in v0.9.25W. I was trying to solve the long-standing problem of panes loosing focus when toggling between Windows apps but the method used was definitely not appropriate !

Pierre, if you think it's fixed in 'W' which is really 9.25v2, sorry I can't agree.

When floating, the window is closed via the "X"
Window is NOT CLOSED when clicking "CLOSE"

Also in V2 the toolbar icon stays highlighted likes its enabled even after its closed (using the X).

I'll add that escape doesn't close it either, not sure if it ever did but I think it should.

Still, at least I can close it now so thanks :).
