I cannot use any combination of ctrl+ number to expand/collapse the outline. This worked in V3 and earlier. I have no keyboard customizations enabled.

Sorry for the delay. I was away.

A re-install (yes, I am using the portable version, Always have) fixed it, sort of. I opened my database which was collapsed at level 1. Using ctrl+9, the items did expand, but ALL of the sub items showed up without text - totally blank. A refresh of the grid fixed that. I have shut down and re-started without further problems.

Weird and disconcerting. Possibly a deal breaker for new users.

Hi John,

This is a known problem. It happens here once in a while and I/we haven't been able to understand what causes it. It seems like a grid component bug, maybe related to conditional formatting ? Not sure.

See :
Update Issue1078 Items appear empty in the grid -- and they're not

Thanks Armando for pointing me to the Mantis report. The particular database to which I was referring has no colors and no conditional formatting, so I don't think those can account for this behavior.

RE: Sub-items showing without text

we're off-topic here but just wanted to write about what happened after reading your post yesterday Armando:

IQ was open but I hadn't been using it for a while. When I Alt+tabbed back to it, all parent items in the opened grid were blank - I dont think this has  happened here before -
Was I hexed ?

On a more serious note, I noticed other apps were having problems too - mouser's FARR was showing a list without numbers, I cant remember now what else. So possibly a graphics problem.
At any rate I rebooted and all was okay....
