I have meant to post this, but keep putting it off. I also though this was fixed some time ago.

If an outline becomes long enough to fill the screen and I continue to add lines, then the last line is partially or wholly hidden. I cannot see what is being typed until I adjust the outline. Very annoying.

Using version W.

I think I found the problem. I am using Arial 12 point font in this particular grid. If I reduce the size to 10 point, the lines advance far enough to stay above the bottom of the screen. I encounter this problem with "larger" font sizes.

Your solution is only a workaround IMO. This should not happen with any font or size. I think it's something that Pierre should fix. I think it has been reported before but may have fallen through the cracks.  It may / may not be listed in mantis.

It used be a problem also with default fonts but that was solved AFAIK (I mean with default font sizes)

Maybe someone should add it to Mantis (we dont want to distract Pierre from the Calendar!!)
EDIT/ for all i know it's already there - I'm miserable when it comes to mantis, in terms of knowing/finding whats in there or not

I am pretty sure that it is in Mantis, but probably listed as fixed. It is only partially fixed, as larger (is 12 point all that large?) sizes have this display problem.

This problem still exists in W1. It is dependent upon your keyboarding speed. I am not particularly fast (my kids laugh at how slow I am), so if I am experiencing this, I am certain that this would affect almost everyone. I have also discovered that it is independent of my choice of font and font size.

1. Have a screen full of outline entries right to the very bottom.
2. Create another TLI at the bottom and start typing immediately. If this doesn't work, do it again. I see about 25% of the line. The rest is below the status bar. This will happen even if I turn the status bar off. (note that I have enter set to create a new item as in Ecco)
3. Now create another TLI and quickly demote it to SLI. I have tab set to do this. If I do this at what I consider to be normal speed for me (slow for most I suspect), the line is entirely hidden.

In all of the above cases if I pause for about 1/2 second or longer, the screen adjusts and the line is visible.

The main thing is that I cannot make use of IQ for quick note-taking.

The issue will be fowarded to the grid supplier.

In the meantime, you can take the habit of pressing INS key (or CTRL+N) to create a new item:
  1. INS adds it to the top of the list
  2. CTRL+N gives you a dialog box

Thank you Pierre.

INS does not meet my needs as the insertion point is out of keeping with my workflow. You can also imagine this not working for anyone using IQ to take minutes during a meeting.

CTRL+N might work, but again, it detracts from data input.
