This has been reported before (and I think reported that it was fixed but I don't think so)

Workaround: Once user closes & re-opens view, the other children re-appear.

For a new user it might be scary, thinking they may have lost data.

Yes Jan, you are right, but I did not have the same result when closing and re-opening the view. The entries did not reappear as expected. There are no filters active. A search does reveal them, but they appear to be orphaned - they have no assignment to any grid (is that possible?). Just when I thought W10 was good enough for daily work.

There are other issues with W10. See here.

yes, that's possible. But search should find them if they are there...
If you know when they were created you could possibly find them by filtering all items with the date filter for around that time

I can't reproduce the issue...

The new parent has sub-items, but are these visible ? (i.e. is the parent collapsed or not ? )

(a refresh should be sufficient to display the other subs...)

If I follow Jan's steps the results are similar, but not identical. Jan can see the dragged children after a re-start. I cannot. In my case, there is only one sub item left. I can find the rest, but they are orphaned. I have also discovered that the found items seem to be recursive. I have one item in level two, one at level three, one at level four, one at level five, one at level 6. The recursion begins at level 6.

In the subject line. A TLI with sub items (in my case several levels deep). When I take some subs from another TLI and drag/drop them to one of the subs in the first TLI, they disappear.

Sorry folks, but I can't reproduce it. Please provide a video capture. Thanks

What I can reproduce is as follows:
  1. Configuration: 2 grids opened, each in a separate tab group (so both are visible at once)
  2. Grid 1: ItemABC with some subs. ItemABC is collapsed and was not expanded since the last refresh (so sub-items are not loaded)
  3. Grid 2: a hierarchy of items
  4. Drag drop from grid 2 to the ItemABC of grid 1, as a sub-item of ItemABD. User did not drop on the expand button, or if he did, did not wait for ItemABD to automatically expand to show its sub-items.
  5. ItemABC now shows 1 sub-item (the one that was drag-dropped). Property pane however shows all sub-items
  6. Selecting "show all sub-item" on ItemABC correctly shows all the sub-items of ItemABC
So... is #5 the issue you were talking about ?

(sorry, but these are the kind of detailed steps, or a screencast of course, that can help in pin-pointing bugs. There are just too many ways of doing things)

This issue is fixed in v0.9.25W10

Yes, but I did not check the property pane. In my case, I would expect that the sub items are not in the property pane because even with a re-start, they do not appear. Search reveals them, but  they are orphaned. If you need more details, I will try to get them for you. I have a number of deadlines, so testing time is very limited. I'm currently back with W5.

#5 is one of those quirks that I ended up using to my advantage**, but it's definitely better off fixed as it is very confusing when you dont know what's happening.

** only seeing items dragged-dropped in the current session was helpful when the destination (parent) item already had 100 sub-items ;-)
