I've never even used a "digital" calendar before.
Attempting to start using IQ's now.

I made a couple of entries, then thought to search for them.

Question #1:
The text notes in the entries cannot be found - is this correct?

I think there was a thread lately involving something about upgrading calendar entries to item level-- but I couldnt find it.

Thanks, Tom

Question #2

do the colours have a default meaning - are they related to urgency (I dont use default urgency elsewhere, hence I'm not sure).

Tom, The calendar is barely basic IMHO.  It's good for appts, reminders, etc but not much else.
You are correct, notes are not "found" outside of the calendar entry
The colors have no default meaning AFAIK

I know Pierre is looking at another calendar provider; sorry couldn't find the link in history. supposed to be more capable than outlook clone.

Jan, I agree that the calendar is pretty lame. Pierre wrote that he was well into the new calendar over a year ago (I think) so we are overdue.

There is a way to accomplish this. I do not use the calendar, but I've experimented with it just in case.

1.Create a new grid called CalItems (or whatever).
2. Make the Source for this new grid ItenInCalendar
3. Add columns relevant to this grid (I suggest calendar fields)

All of the items assigned to your calendar will appear. These can be filtered, searched, etc. I'm sure you can figure the implications and the applications of this form here.

Jon, how do you identify the notes area from the calendar, i.e. what's the name of the system field that captures that data? I think Tom mentioned that specifically. Tks.

just a +1 to this question really -
I did notice that I couldnt see the field in the properties pane, but it does show in the Notifications pane, which is designed to show tooltips IIRC.

PS thanks Jan for clarifications !
and I will try your suggestion Jon when I get a spare moment... :-)

If referring to the appointment text that appears in the calendar but is not revealed through a search, then the field is Item. The calendar seems to be a special grid that is not searched by IQ, but its contents can be displayed as a grid whicj can be searched or filtered.

Yes, I can confirm that the appt is an item which can be seen in field properties but I am referring to the area below the reminder (and Schedule ID) where user can insert notes or agenda items for appt, etc. Hope the graphic makes it clear.  Also I don't believe categories, time shown as, Private, Meeting, Reminder or Schedule ID show up in fields which is why i think it's a pretty lame calendar but for dated reminders it's fine.  I don't know how much if any work has been done on the calendar module since Pierre is now talking about a new vendor & I fear we may be talking about this a year from now which would be a HUGE disappointment -- to me, anyway.

Hi all !

Only the event text is searchable inside IQ for now. There are some reasons for this, not evident to users, I agree...

As for IQ progress, or rather, lack of, my consulting is nearly finished, and so is the Tour de France. I'll be off for well deserved vacations in the first 2 weeks of August, and then, I'll be seriously working on IQ !
