Coming up in the next release (0.9.26PreRel10):

Focus of this release is the Mapview :

New: Mapview: The Insert key (Ins) creates a new item under the current focus item
New: Mapview: Drag-drop to move items from one parent to another
New: Mapview: Ctrl+up/down increases/decreases the node maximum node width. Width is grid specific
Fixed: Mapview: Display orientation is not saved (left-right vs up/down)
Fixed: Mapview: Ctrl+= an Ctrl+- keyboard shortcut, to expand / collapse items, do not work
Fixed: Mapview: Icons are not shown correctly
Fixed: Mapview: Print Preview was broken in the previous version
Fixed: Mapview: Hyperlinks were no longer working
Fixed: Mapview: Item text is not updated when changes are made in other grids
Fixed: Mapview: Items are not deleted when deleted in other grids
Fixed: Ctrl+Tab to switch tab sometimes opens the Manage grid dialog
Fixed: Hyperlinks to grids : broken
Fixed: Pressing Shift immediately after Enter could open the pop-up editor
Fixed: When many grids were opened, GDI usage was too high
Change: To improve performance, pressing Enter creates a new item but no longer automatically enter Edit mode. Simply start typing to begin Edit.
Fixed: Clipping window can sometimes take a long time to open. Occurs if the Wikitag field has >10000 items.
Workaround: In Win 8, the universal clipper does not work correctly, presumably due to some security restrictions. Users now have a workaround: Simply hit Ctrl+C before hitting the clipper hotkey.

I'll update this post with other changes.

{Win}+c brings up the Win8 Charm Bar

{Win}+N brings up new IQ note. User can paste in the bottom window, link is not inserted

Are the other options, i.e. {Alt}, etc supposed to be used in combination with {Win} key b/c those combos that I tried don't work either. Didn't try all of them

BTW, Evernote clipper has absolutely no problem clipping directly & simply from Win 8 IE 10 into an Evernote new note.

You can change the {Win}+C shortcut to something else in Tools > Options.

Not to be difficult but:

<WIN> in combination with A,C,Q,I,H,K,<TAB>,F,W,L,P,Z,X,O,+,V,D,R,T,U,<BREAK>,M,<HOME>,<UP>,<DOWN>,<LEFT>,,<RIGHT> and some other combos are already in use by Win8.

Meantime, not to point out the obvious, but Evernote has gotten by the security issue somehow without asking the user to jump through hoops.

Any further suggestions or thoughts on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

You can use any combination of CTRL and ALT keys also...

Evernote has got a larger dev. team than I have...

OK, I've tried a lot of combinations w/o luck. Maybe you have another idea as this is quite frustrating.

Hi Jan,

I'm using alt+shift+c with Windows 8. It works well.

So to clip, what you will need to do is

- Ctrl+C

- Alt+shift+c

Note that -- as Tom suggested -- the current version won't work with this workaround as I think at the moment Pierre empties the clipboard before sending a ctrl+c (which doesn't work, maybe for security reasons).

If I'm using IE10, the combo <alt><shft>c displays a menu containing favorites, history, feeds

If I'm using Chrome I get an error beep

I don't know what I'm doing that you're not doing to make this work.

I think my steps are correct:

select data in IE10 or Chrome

{CTRL}+C

{SHIFT}{ALT}+C (which I assume is supposed to clip data & dump it into a new note in IQ)

In IE10 this brings up the display mentioned above

In Chrome I get what is an error beep from IQ

In options:

Add item is set at {SHIFT}{ALT}+C

Add to note is set at {SHIFT}{ALT}+A

Can you see any differences in what I'm doing vs what you are doing?

Hi Jan,

I don't use IE, so it's possible that there's a conflict there. You could try another shortcut as there are certainly other possibilities that would fit your workflow.

In Chrome it works well though. (However, for now, Nothing will appear in the clipper window -- unless you're using the version Pierre is currently working on ! -- but you should see the add item dialog and should be able to paste in the HtML part.)

Maybe there's some shortcut conflict on your computer. You should try several combinations to at least be able to get the dialog to appear. Once you get that , find the best keys combination.
