There have periodic posts about disappearing something or other. Well, here's another one.

Next to version # I insert day / time via context menu clock because short cut keys are non functional. I did nothing unusual before the above disappearance. I think
I was in another view. Then returned to this one.  This is scary.  Pierre, I hope you can find an answer to this.  If I can document it better, I will append it to this post.

I've had this kind of stuff happening too. It seems like a display bug. In my case : solved by closing the grid and reopening it. Does that work for you (in the mean time) ?

probably.  i'll test to be sure. For me, I never know what will make IQ display the right data: refresh <F5>, close / re-open grid, close re-open program. It's very frustrating. Pierre... pls !!

This is rather intriging. I've never seen the problem before. I'll keep an eye open for this. What is the properties pane showing for these items (filled fields section)?

As to what is required to refresh, the general rule is:
  • Refresh (F5) to show items added in another grid (or an item who's field values / parents were changed so it should now show in this grid) i.e. Data changes
  • Close/reopen when some changes are made to the grid properties i.e. Grid changes
  • Close/reopen program when some options are changed, such as language i.e. Program setting changes

Pierre : when that happened, fields appeared completely empty.  Jan's seem to still have some content in them.

Upon closer inspection what Jan described never ever happened. Never lost a thing -- except for html weirdness a year ago.

Jan : what did you actually really lost ?

You see all the versions have a date & time except for v.1-2-3.   Before disappearance, v.1-2-3 also had date / time. Very weird.

this date is just a string that's been added to the fields. there's nothing more to it.
My guess is that you might have undid the change(s) by pressing undo or esc. i don't see how this can happen as ALL changes made to fields are instantly recorded into the database.
