1. I cannot find a description of how to Import hierarchical data anywhere in the online manual.
The only reference I can find to this facility is in a forum entry which reports a problem encountered by another InfoQube user which appears never to have been satisfactorily answered. The forum entry is to be found at:
2. When I try to use the facility, I encounter a dialogue the second part of which makes no sense to me - much as it failed to do to the previous reporter.
3. I converted my Word outline in Microsoft Excel such that the first level of indenting was represented by a single tab character char(9), the second by two tab characters.
In Word, the data looks something like this:

In the absence of any documentation for import hierarchical data, I had fondly imagined that all that was necessary was to ensure that the tab character ASCII 9 appeared at the start of a string and that this would cause indentation.
The Excel formula which I use to achieve what I take to be the correct tab indentation inserts char(9)&char(9) for a second-level indentation.
Please can somebody point me in the right direction?
Incidentally, as far as I can ascertain, no Microsoft Office product is capable of saving in OPML format; so that will not help me.

I had misunderstood the functionality. What InfoQube can import is a single Excel worksheet in which the first level in the hierarchy – sometimes referred to as the TLI, the top level identifier – is in the first column, and the second level, the SLI, the second level identifier is in the second column. Further levels of hierarchy are represented by further columns. (This precludes importing data into other fields at the same time as importing the hierarchical data, since all the data on the worksheet is imported into a single field in a single grid.)
