Pierre,

1. give tab in focus a color besides bold (user selected color)
2. Each area of IQ where user manipulates data require a particular format so I think it would be helpful to have a user tip to pop up like

Enter source as [field] and/or [field]
or
Enter filter as fieldname null or formula (fieldname > int(today) and fieldname <+7)

Well, I'm sure you get the idea I'm getting at.
Or it could also refer to a help page or both

I think this has been suggested before, and I'm all fort it. (IIRC though, I think that it's a component limitation that prevented Pierre to implement it ??)

Which theme are you using? I use Office 2007 and the selected tab is clearly identified.

in XP or 2003 themes the tab is simply indicated by bold text - there's no colour difference
Actually,
in 2003 the focused tab get's very sliughtly darker towards the bottom of tab

In the office 2007 theme, the selected tab is clearly identified... unless multiple grids are tiled vertically/horizontally. Which is when it's the most useful to have clear identification.

Combo-views with dockable grids will solve this issue (when implemented)
