Confirmed. The universal clipper can clip text correctly (though the item text is just a bunch of ?????) but copy/paste does not work.
 
I'll add it to the issues list
 

Unfortunately the issue is not limited to Cyrillic script.
 
When pasting text in German from the Clipboard the letter ä, ö and ü are not properly displayed.
I can write them in the HTML editor, just not paste them.
 
Maybe something to do with Unicode?

Yes, I did quite a bit of work on this and it is nearly working. Full support for all characters, including asian. It isn't quite finished though.
I'll be away on holidays next week, so it will likely be available the following week... can you wait ?

I would prefer having it as it is rather sooner than later without the support for Asian characters.
 

Some of these issues are now fixed (v0.9.26PreRel67)
 
One issue that isn't fixed is when the actual URL uses extended characters, so the original page will not load. This page will however:
