I thought there was a recent thread on this but I couldn't find one.  I've had an intermittent problem with grids failing to restore when I open a file.  InfoQube opens with a blank view with no grids displayed.  It doesn't happen every time by any means --- maybe 10%-20% of the time.

I upgraded to 9.73b and it just did it again.

Hi Wayne,

maybe try this:

Options->Program Settings->Modes

Then see if those options are checked:

- Restore Layout when Opening Files

OR/AND

- Show Restore Layout When Opening Files

Armando,

I've got the first one checked but not the second.  I didn't look into settings very far because I don't see how any setting would explain why it would work, then not work, then work again...all without changing settings in between.

I'll try also checking the second one for the layout dialogue.

Is there any way to formally save/reinstate a grid layout manually?  It's not a big deal when I have a few grids open but I've been experimenting with more complicated split-screen layouts that are a pain to recreate each time

I'm planning on implementing named layouts save and restore. On opening, one would be see a list of layout to choose from (optional of course)

Pierre,

That would be excellent, another powerful tool for organizing info.

You're right, no reasons that should happen, theoretically.
In the mean time (Pierre might have an idea of why this is happening) If you know where to look though, it's easily fixed. So the next time this happens, before reopening grids etc., recheck that checkbox, close your DB and restart it. The menu should appear with your previous grid setup.
(Last time I ran into this problem, it worked)
