I'm not sure if this is a bug or just something I don't understand.  I'm trying to copy/paste text between grid items using the standard Windows short-cuts (Ctrl-c; Ctrl-v).
Instead of pasting the copied text, it pastes the date.

If I try to use "copy special", it pastes nothing.  Similar issues when I copy/paste from grid to HTML pane using various combinations of copy, copy special, paste, and paste special.

Strange.
Here it works well. Never stopped working.

Copy Special should show a dialog with various options.

Maybe your IQ keyboard shortcuts have been changed in some way?

Maybe Pierre will be able to reproduce the issue.

Shortcuts are set correctly and in any case the problem also occurred when using the context menu commands.

Tried it out just now and was ready to pronounce it back to working only to find now it's doing something else.  When I copy/pasted a piece of text, it seemed to be working correctly.  Except when I tried to copy/paste another block of text, it pasted the previous block.  It has continued doing that, pasting the same block over and over again no matter how many times I try to copy a new block.

It's doing other weird things like deleting the item text when I delete text in the HTML pane.

Copy/paste is working fine in other programs.

I seem to be a magnet for misbehavior.  I just can't do sustained work without another issue popping up.  Right now I'm having to manually retype all text I want to move.

I'm continuing to try different things to pinpoint the source of the problem.

1) I rebooted again and found that paste wasn't working at all.  When I copied text from any source and tried to paste it in the grid, nothing happened.
2) But this time paste did work in the HTML pane.
3) Now I'm thinking it could be related to what I'm doing in the grid:  I'm creating bulleted lists using shift-return to start a new line.  I tried creating a regular new single-line item and paste worked.

So if anyone's interested in trying to re-create the problem, create a list in a grid cell using shift-return to create new lines.  Then see if you can paste text into this list.

- In what case is copy/paste not working? Can we have a set of exact steps to perform?

- About the problem where deleting somewhere that also deletes what's in the grid : yes, I've experienced that too. What happens is that the focus moves to the grid without any notice and operations are done in the grid instead of the pane. That's a problem that should be isolated (didn't have the time to isolate it). If you're careful you'll notice the focus changing. Ctrl+Z should cancel the deletion if it happens.

Thanks.

Thought I was clear about the steps but I guess not (ha):

1) Create a list in a grid cell using shift-return to create each new line.
2) Copy text from another grid cell.
3) Paste the text into the list created in step 1.

No problem here. It works (both ways : from a cell with multiple lines to a single line cell and the reverse)
I actually use shift-enter quite a lot.

After more tries, I don't think it has anything to do with lists.  It also fails with regular items but nothing is consistent.  It just started working and copy/pasted correctly 10+ times in a row, then stopped working again.

It's failing at the copy step.  When that happens, it pastes whatever was previously in the clipboard (or nothing if the clipboard is empty).  This occurs whether I'm copy/pasting inside InfoQube or between InfoQube and another program.

Maybe some running process is interfering?  But if so, why would the problem occur only inside InfoQube and not other programs?  I've tried closing some processes but haven't found a fix.

Do you use a clipboard manager? Some clipboard managers loose the "clipboard chain" easily with certain apps. It need to be frequently reestablished.

I also remember having problems with copy/paste at some point -- a long time ago -- because my IQ memory buffer was set too low or high. Can't remember. How big (MB) is your IQ base?

There's also a recurring bug with IQ -- happens a couple times a day here : sometimes IQ's shortcuts stop working. I need to click on another tab and back where I was to have them working again.

Yes, I went through running processes and tried closely numerous ones, including one clipper utility, without effect.  I did find a reference to Java processes interfering with copy/paste shortcuts so I closed those.  It might be helping but it's hard to say because the problem itself comes and goes on its own.  I'll report back if the improvement holds up.

I'll also try your trick of clicking on another tab.
