I erase an item, I dont want to erase it's sub-items - e.g.

1
  1.1
      1.1.1
      1.1.2

I erase 1.1, it's sub-items disappear (I know there threre somewhere ;-)
Would it be logical for the subitems to move up the hierarchy ? - I think it would but maybe there's a reson against?

You want to set Tools>Options>Program options>Modes Confirm deletion of sub-items

No, I get that Pierre - I mean on delete I get the confirmation dialogue - the sub-items arent deleted but
they dissappear from grid

I'm suggesting they simply move up the hierarchy instead of dissappearing

but that might be complicated if they moving up to top level of grid (because of source field) ?

You should move them before deleting, because I can see many cases where you would not want this to happen
