I have a grid with seven columns. Selecting blocks of items and contiguous columns does not work as it does in Excel. The middle columns are not selected. This happens if I use Shift + Click to select a block of CTRL + Click to individually select. I think this worked before. I am trying to copy / paste selected columns into a text document.

Here's what I tried (if I understood your problem well enough):

- Ctrl+Click on headers to select multiple columns : works. But the tooltips are in the way -- nothing's perfect.

- shift+click on headers : works

- click in grid when pointer is an arrow and drag to select : works.

That said, when I first tried ctrl+clicking, it didn't work. But I then clicked in the grid and retried... and it worked.

Could it be that some columns are read only ?

Armando, thanks for trying. What I poorly explained is that I am trying to select a block of cells (not complete columns, hence my reference to the way this works in Excel). So to use the Excel analogy I try to select cells C4 to E8. When I do that, column D is not selected.

Pierre, nothing is read only.

Thanks Pierre, that worked. Why can I not use the keyboard? I'd like to select a cell and hold the shift key to complete the selectin of the range. It would also be nice to be able to use CTRL + Shift to selectively choose.

In v77, Shift + click now works correctly to extend a select range
