hi,

it's an evening for IQ problems... I have one database which when I open it does not show any of the grids that were left open in the previous session. I have "Restore layout" checked in Options. Other databases open with all the grids that were open at the time the database was closed. It's just this one opens "blank".

Also, in this "problem" database, grids that I have opened are no longer showing in the View bar, ie grids are no longer being added to it as I open them.

I have a similar problem when trying to use a DB backup (manual backup using IQ's own backup/save feature : tools->database management-> backup). Mentioned it somehwere in the forum about 2-3 months ago, I think.
"Normal" backups (i.e. those created a backup software) don't have that problem

Armando, I think that's it. This was a database I "restored" from an internal backup (basically just opened the .snbka file and renamed to .sndb).

It's surprisingly annoying to just get a big empty space (no grids or anything) everytime you open a database.

I've changed things a little regarding saving / restoring layouts in v81. Hopefully it will be better !

FWIW I was having same problem with one file:
no layout being restored.

A repair seems to have resolved the problem
